Liz Rios is a mother, friend, confidante, Reverend and Women’s advocate. Liz came to E.Webscapes for a brand new design for her existing blog that used to be powered by Typepad, but this time around, she wanted me to import her Typepad archives into a brand new WordPress powered blog hosted on our servers at Blogs About Hosting. I did just that, and finished up her brand new design this month at Latina Liz…..

Liz was using one of Typepad’s default templates and wanted to liven her blog up a little bit and suggested a calming color scheme of creams, beige, brown and some pink thrown in there to add a touch of femininity. It was important to Liz that parts of her life be represented in the blog design, such as a picture of her husband and two sons, her role as women’s advocate and a easy to use photo gallery to display pictures of the people in her life who are closest to her. Along with the custom WordPress blog design, I also installed and customized a nice Photo Gallery built right into her WordPress blog where she can add images and display them in a nice gallery, along with the ability to display them in a slideshow presentation, if her readers want to view her photos that way.

Liz’s theme is Widget ready, allowing her to utilize the great Sidebar Widget functionality that is built into WordPress (version 2.2 and above). Making the switch from Typepad to WordPress did involve a bit of a learning curve for Liz, but as she works with WordPress and discovers how easy it is to use for updates to her site – Typepad is becoming more and more of a distant memory.

Thank you so much, Liz, for allowing me to create your new blog design – best of luck to you and your new blog home!
