Welcoming Chelle to E.Webscapes ~ Lisa Sabin-Wilson

A short while ago, I posted about my efforts to find, interview and hire an assistant here at E.Webscapes to help with some of the administrative tasks that seem to pile up more and more every day. This is probably something I should have done about a year ago. Self employment does bring about the practice of being the jack of all trades. I am not only a designer and web host, but I wear a few other hats, as well…

I am an accountant, book keeper, secretary, janitor, sales rep, web master, data entry specialist, receptionist, snow removal consultant (I AM in Wisconsin!), Ms. fix it, marketing advisor, human relations and personelle manager, director, vice president and president… all wrapped into one. That’s the fun of self employment - the only person you need to answer to is yourself, and your clients.

That kind of freedom can also be rather confining, as well - as it takes a LOT of time management skills and organization to really get the job done, and done right.

Recently, over the past few months, things around have been getting a little out of hand. Not unmanageable - just a bit more chaotic than I care for.

I started talking to my long-time friend, Chelle, about this - and about the fact that now is probably the time for me to take the leap of faith and bring someone in to assist with the administrative tasks that take me away from the real work that I love to do. We talked round and round about what the position would entail, how it would be structured in order to bring a little sanity to my office space.

Those talks turned into a job proposal - which turned into an interview, which, yes - you guessed it, turned into an accepted job offer.

I’d like to introduce you to Chelle Killea - E.Webscapes newest addition, and soon to be my right (and maybe left) hand around here. Chelle has several years of experience working in the past as an assistant to a design team in Georgia, as well as an untold number of hours providing basic internet and hosting support to onlline customers. Trust me when I say that I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt that Chelle ‘gets it’. She is going to be able to jump right in with both feet, barely get wet - but most defintely will make a splash.

Chelle is organized, to a fault - - a little obsessive compulsive disorder does come in handy now an again, believe it or not! I’m excited about Chelle coming on board - she has really been with me since I left my full time day job as an RN and took on E.Webscapes (and Blogs About Hosting) as my full time job back in 2003. She’s been there to listen, encourage, support, lend a hand and has been one of E.Webscapes’s biggest cheerleaders for several years. The decision to bring her on in an administrative role was a no brainer and I’m excited about the opportunities this will open up as I learn what to do with the time that I’ll have available to me now that she’s on board.

Welcome, Chelle - thanks you for having the faith to make the leap. I’m really looking forward to this!
