Web Standards

Many times, when we speak of web standards, we’ll questions about what that means, exactly. It can mean different things to different people… anything from cross-browser compatibility (ensuring your design looks the same in different types of browsers like IE, FireFox or Safair) to XHTML compliance within the code. … Here are a few links — a “Web Standards Round Up” if you will, to help explain things a bit better:

W3C – World Wide Web Consortium
The Web Standards Project
The Web Standards Group
Web Definitions for Web Standards
A Web Standards Primer
IEBlog: IE and Standards
The Web Standards Blog

As designers, we’re always working toward achieving good web standards when designing sites for our clients. Resources, like the ones listed above, help us along the way to do just that. I hope you find it useful!
