You may ask yourself “What’s the difference between a BLOG design and a WEB SITE design? Aren’t they the same??” .. sometimes, we think so – but there are special circumstances where further clarification is required. A blog design includes just the custom design and setup of a personal blog. A web site, on the other hand, can include a blog (or not!) and can have many other components, such as:
- A landing page (or portal) that contains various different content areas. For example, this site here, at E.Webscapes – our front page is kind of a portal of information.. snippets of contents and links about what you can find if you dig deeper into the site.
- Custom category pages and queries to create things like portfolios, photo blogs, directories, job banks, just to name a few
- E-Commerce and shops, if you’re selling products and/or services directly from your site
- Discussion Forums, if you’re planning on hosting forums for community discussion or support.

Occasionally, we are contacted by some extremely talented designers who already have their desired visual design worked out in a file commonly referred to as a PSD – a layered Photoshop design mock-up. Not all designers are coders, or CSS experts, so they come to us, armed with their design files, and ask if we are able to take their design and perform our code and CSS magic so they can use it on their blog or web site. Tweaks to an Existing Site or Theme
Yes – we often get requests to tweak an existing theme. This could mean one of many, or several, things like creating a custom header graphic or logo, adding different features to an existing site, changing out colors or formatting, etc.
Premium Themes? You bet! The use of [premade] premium themes from other sources can work really well, if you’re on a tight budget. We will happily customize an existing premium theme. Here at E.Webscapes we highly, and exclusively, recommend themes from the talented StudioPress team. E.Webscapes will not provide you with the premium theme, however – when you obtain it from the original source, you can then provide it to us for customization and use on your site.
Note: please realize that we are working under the limitations provided within the particular theme framework you’ve chosen to use. The cost on the customization of the theme will completely depend on the level of customizations you require, we’re willing to discuss whatever options and ideas you have!

CMS (Content Management System) Installation & Upgrades
We will install and setup your chosen CMS, or blogging platform, on your hosting account – for optimal performance. We work with WordPress, Movable Type, Expression Engine and an array of other great platforms out there today – just ask us!
In terms of upgrades – yep, we do that too. Sometimes CMS platforms will release an upgrade and we realize it can sometimes seem a daunting, and sometimes intimidating task, to upgrade a web site or blog, especially one with extensive customization or content. Let us know what you need – whether it’s a full platform upgrade, or plugin upgrades or installations!
Custom Plugin Development/Install
We will install, setup and, in some cases, integrate into your design, any plugin you wish to add to your blog or web site. We also have the resources available to develop custom plugins – so if you have ideas and can’t find a plugin that exists to take care of it – - let us know! We will let you know if it’s possible and what the costs are associated with creating the custom development for you!
We will also upgrade your existing plugins. We do realize that it can sometimes be an intimidating process to upgrade plugins – - we not only will run the upgrade for you – - but we will trouble shoot any problems that may be caused by a particular plugin upgrade, and we won’t rest until it’s perfect! If we find that a particular plugin upgrade is not compatible with your, individual setup – we will not stop until we find you a suitable alternative. Give us a shout!
We will create ad banners to match your current site design, using your logo, color scheme and overall branding. We can create ad banners for the web in a variety of standard ad sizes – or the sizes of your choice. Let us know and we’ll build them for you!
Custom Designed Community/Networks
We have deployed several community networks using the BuddyPress and WordPress platforms. The whole point of social media is to update the world with what you are up to – and share information with other social media users. Why not turn your own site into a social portal of it’s own?

Blog not acting right? Is something out of alignment, or maybe it hasn’t been behaving itself ever since you ran that last upgrade? If your blog has that not-to-fresh feeling – drop us a line – we treat problem blogs!
How do we price these kinds of situations out? We charge an hourly fee, with a one hour minimum. That first hour is usually spent investigating the issue and researching possible causes and solutions. If it’s possible that we can research and diagnose AND treat within that one hour, we will! However, if after spending an hour doing the researching and diagnosing and we find that it will take longer than one hour? We’ll let you know – then you can decide how you would like to proceed. Simple and easy!
Imports, Exports and Site Transfers
Want to switch blog platforms? – say you’re currently using TypePad and you would like to move to WordPress, on your own domain and hosting – - we can help! Not only do we offer affordable web hosting and domain name registration services… but we can move the contents of your entire TypePad (or whatever CMS you are using) blog into a WordPress environment on your own hosting account. We can even convert your existing design.
Moving to a new hosting provider? – this can be daunting, no doubt! Why not get it done right…because, lets face it, if it’s not done right, when are you going to find the time to do it over? We can get it done for you, make sure your link structure is not compromised and get it all transferred to your new host without you having to life a finger of effort (aside from providing us with the information we need to make it happen!)
