Sedge Court Journal

The Sedge Court Journal is jacked to debut our new look for the site. Not only do we have the Best Sports Blog in America; we now also claim the “Best Looking Sports Blog Ever!”

We would like to thank Lisa at E.Webscapes for her tireless efforts and ability to take our schizophrenic ideas and develop a look and feel that we think is pretty damn good. We looked long and hard to find a designer who had her artistic vision and value; and after much debate we decided to select E.Webscapes for the sites re-design. We are convinced that there is not a more talanted designer or better value elsewhere. Period.

Lisa was awesome throughout the process and she gets the “Official” Sedge Court Seal of Approval. Lisa, this shi*t is tight and we are fired up! Thanks!

Our site was Busch League till Lisa came along. Now our sh#t is tight, were rollin in Benjamins, and the ladies love us!!

Thanks Lisa!!

    Well said. I totally agree.

But personally, I wouldn’t recommend any host whose selling point is the 1-click installation of WP. In the umpteen installs I’ve done, it’s always worked better when installing manually.

i disagree, wench. it has the same appeal as the plug-n-play stuff of today.

I have several Blogger accounts but am considering the move to WordPress. I’m interested to know what hosting is the best and easist to use with it. And what hosting do you recommend for use with WordPress.

I hosted a blog with Yahoo for many months snd it worked just fine but my needs were small and I did the install myself. I am glad I switched hosts just the same.

Your article was most helpful while trying to deal with a client site hosted through Yahoo. I was hoping that maybe you just had not figured out some of the permalinking issues, but after quite a bit of exploring I found that you were (unfortunately) right on the mark.

I’ll be switching a few clients to another web host this week.

Absolutely 100% with you. I left Yahoo after just one day — zero tech support, quirky installation of WordPress, downright weird MySQL stuff. Back to my favorite host, modwest.com.

Hello,I found your website after doing a search for help with permlinks. I had my first blog with yahoo webhosting and the permlinks work fine. Now, I’m with a different hosting company and the permlinks plugin made by yahoo dosen’t work.
I’ve read enought to know that you have to change the .ht file do you know of a another plugin that might help to create the permlinks structure I want . .?

I see that there are some recent posts here. So here it goes. I am having the same problem with WP permalinks myself and today I called Yahoo. Guess what? They told me wright away they do not support WordPress and recommended to look into their own blog platform. Although I am frustrated with Yahoo about this, I will stick around to see if they ever update this feature.

On the other hand if you are looking for good hosting for WP, look for providers who offer “fantastico” scripts. If they do, it is very likely that you will not need to even touch your .htaccess file in order for your customized permalinks to work. Hope this helps.
