HeathWitch is a design that I recently completed for Heather’s new blog about the Pagan and Wiccan philosophies and practices. She came to me with a request for a bright and lively design done with shades of red, yellow, black and white. We settled on the artwork to use in her design - that’s when she sent me a photograph of her hair and asked me to match the color of her hair to her new site design….

After matching the custom designed graphics to the same color red as her hair, we proceeded onto the next step of creating her custom WordPress theme with all the functionalities that she wanted on her blog. As a former LiveJournal blogger, she wanted to make sure she had a WordPress-to-LiveJournal CrossPosting system that allowed her to update her LJ blog everytime she updates her WordPress blog. I made sure she had that functionality, along with other elements like social bookmarking, a tabbed archive navigation system to ‘un-clutter’ her sidebar, RSS feed complete with email subscription service, and a built-in contact form that enable guests on her site to contact her, directly, via email.
Heather was very pleased with the final result:
Many thanks for sending through the proposed design for heathwitch.com. What can I say — this is stunning! I was very impressed when I opened the file and saw the word you’ve done — I really do feel you’ve hit the nail on the head with what I was hoping for in terms of a personal yet professional site. And you definitely succeeded with the hair! Thank you!
