Pastoral Staff – WordPress Website Design

Don Kimball from PastoralStaff.com contacted us because he wanted to start a web site geared towards staff pastors to provide a place where pastoral staff members can discuss issues specifically related to their jobs, challenges and issues. Don knew he wanted to use WordPress to power his site and looked to us for the guidance and expertise to get his site up and running with a custom design created to his specifications.

Project Details	Specs
Don requested an earthy color scheme of browns, creams and maroons and wanted to make sure the design was warm and inviting to their visitors. He wanted the design to be conservative, but still hip and cool enough to be considered inter-generational – - otherwise known as fun for all ages! Don initially weighed the idea of doing the web site in WordPress on his own, but after speaking with us on the details and the level of design and custom integration needed, he decided the cost was worth it and it would allow him to focus on building his community and writing content for his web site and would leave the design work up to the us, and we’re glad he did! Brown Sista Custom WordPress Theme

Having conducted personal interviews with the celebrity likes of Vivica Fox and Mya, Shawna knew she definitely needed a professional and sharp new design for her web site at Brown Sista! Her site is heavy on images, with lots of photos and galleries hosted on her site — the design needed to be clean, minimalistic and stylish all at the same time.

Shawna wanted to colors to be bright and lively – - which I can completely relate to, as she opted to use a somewhat similar color scheme to what we use right here on the E.Webscapes site! What’s not to like? The design, itself, needed to be light on images – opting more for beautiful accents and typography to convey the message and frame her content. The color definitely adds punch without being overwhelming to the eye. Also important was ample space for advertisements and monetization opportunities that Shawna has with her web site. Sweet Pea Studios – WordPress Custom Website

Daniel from Sweet Pea Studios runs a successful Wedding Videography business in NYC. He approached E.Webscapes for a redesign of his web site, to be done in WordPress to allow him the easy of managing and maintain his site once we were finished with it. Daniel described his videography technique as “it’s a modern editing approach while still retaining a classic look” – and that is the look he wanted for his new web site design.

Providing Sweet Pea Studios with a soft, pretty design with a minimalistic approach while still maintaining a classic wedding look was our challenge – and they were quite happy with the overall results that you see on their web site today! He wanted it to look like a professional business web site, not like a ‘typical WordPress powered blog” – even though he does maintain a blog on the site, we accomplished that goal, and then some. For his videos, we did create a custom category template to handle the display of his video clips in an organized fashion, that stayed within the design requirements of his site. Have a look! National Council For Workforce Education (NCWE)

Looking for an easier way to manage and maintain their own web site, the fine folks at the National Council for Workforce Education contacted E.Webscapes for a fully functional web site built in WordPress that would enable them to have several different features, all manageable by their staff from an easy to use Dashboard, as provided by the WordPress software.

After going through several design iterations with their team, we strongly agreed on the one you see on their web site today – - it is clean, professional, striking and very easy to navigate.

We used WordPress to power the web site and used several plugins and built in features that give NCWE its unique features such as a fully integrated Job Bank where their members can submit help wanted ads for people to browse and apply for, a clickable regional map that gives information on their several different regions across the United States, a Vendors link directory where vendors can submit links for review and inclusion, as well as several custom post and category pages to create the display and presentation of their various content on their web site – - as well as a blog where they post news and updates from within their organization.

Influence at Work – Custom TypePad Blog Design

Todd Farran from Inside Influence Report approached us for a custom designed template for his TypePad powered blog. When Todd communicated his specification and requirements on his design ideas, we all decided this was a great match, so we teamed up with him and recently launched his new custom TypePad blog.

The Inside Influence Report (IIR) has been developed to translate viable, proven scientific research into ethical business applications. Additionally, they will be updating readers on Dr. Cialdini’s new thoughts, projects, articles and public events as well as other INFLUENCE AT WORK programs. Their site is geared towards those who wish to use the scientific research and principles in business, relationships, or everyday life. Those looking for workshop opportunities. Wanting a deep maroon and grey color scheme that utilized strong colors and gradients, we created a clean 3-column theme using TypePad’s Custom CSS feature, that enables Todd to continue taking full advantage of TypePad’s built in widgets and TypeLists without him having to touch a bit of the underlying code in order to make it all happen! Using their colorful logo and a monochrome approach to color, we achieved just that for their site design In addition to providing the design and visual elements they required, their newly custom WordPress theme also leaves them ample space for ad placement and monetization in the future, when they decide to go down that road. Chocolate Brides – Custom WordPress Theme

Kesha, from Chocolate Brides came to us looking for a super slick, polished and gorgeous looking web site for her bridal and wedding themed site. Choosing to power it using WordPress, we discussed the different features available to make her site really shine, and keep her brides, and potential brides, coming back for more!. Custom designed in WordPress – Kesha’s site at Chocolate Bride’s is a beautiful example of how WordPress can be gorgeous!

Kesha’s web site is focused on the African American woman, ages 25-55 who are going through, or about to go through, the bridal and wedding planning experience. Her chosen color scheme included chocolate brown, gold and caramel — and she wanted it all wrapped up in an elegant, sophisticated web site that would present her content, helpful articles and resources to her readers in a easy to navigate fashion. We implemented the popular featured content scroller on the front page to enable Kesha to put an emphasis on those articles that she feels are extra special. We also created a beautiful 2-column layout that gives her ample space for both her content, and her navigation structure and advertising and monetization opportunities. As an extra added special touch, given the name of the web site, we found some crazy cute social media buttons from Zeusbox Studio that look extremely edible in all their chocolate glory! Equestrian Pilates – Custom WordPress Design

Elizabeth from Equestrian Pilates contacted us because she just new there had to be an easier way to maintain her own web site! Prior to this project, her web site was a static HTML based site where updates needed to be done manually, thought the regular help of a paid web designer. I introduced Elizabeth to WordPress and we talked about how insanely easy site maintenance and content management is with WordPress – - and she was sold!

We used the main parts of Elizabeth’s existing design, and added a few design elements and embellishments to create her new custom WordPress theme. This project also included the import of her existing static HTML content into WordPress pages and posts, and creating a custom navigation structure out of her pages, categories and articles – along with custom post thumbnails to enhance the visual display of her written work. After implementing the basics, we also deployed the WP E-Commerce plugin to handle her shopping carts needs. Elizabeth sells her E-Books, Videos and training sessions all from her web site, in a convenient and easy-to-manage e-commerce solution straight from her WordPress dashboard! We also added some great features to her site like rotating testimonials from her clients, a rotating banner graphic on the top of her page where she can showcase several of her clients and colleagues and custom post and category pages for different presentations of her content. Lia approached E.Webscapes for a cleaner, more professional design for her web site at NourishNetwork.com that is powered by WordPress MU and BuddyPress. Lia’s site was a challenge in that it’s more than just a web site with content – it is a fully interactive social community where her members interact, discuss, share and network on a regular basis through groups, forums, messaging and more

Lia had her ideas all set and had put a lot of thought and planning into where she wanted her web site to go, in terms of her goals and content presentation. I did a lot of custom work for the display of her content that included custom featured content tabbed gallery, dynamically resizing images depending on which section of the web site you are visiting, custom navigation menus throughout the site, based on category, page and topic and customized social community features through the use of the BuddyPress add-on for WordPress.

By using BuddyPress on her WordPress powered web site, Lia is able to host several social features on NourishNetwork.com including: Member Profiles, Member Avatars, Groups, Forums, Private Messaging, Friends and more. She has build an exciting community around the topic of sustainable foods, cooking and recipe sharing.

Social Media Answers – Custom WordPress Design

Kevin at Social Media Answers decided it was time for a redeisgn of his web site. I designed his original web site for him back in February of 2009, and this time around, Kevin was looking for a brighter, more professional look for his online presence.

Kevin really favors the minimalistic look with design, so this time we went almost completely greyscale with the color and tones, with a more professional front page that includes a custom featured content sliding feature that allows Kevin to put the spotlight on some of his more prolific and interesting articles

Aside from interesting articles, Kevin also provides several directories of reviews and resources on his site including press release service reviews, niche social media network reviews and blog/rss directory listings. For each of these directories, I created a custom navigation feature with a roll-over effect for impact.
